I had such a delightful stay at Ara Ambigua Lodge! The stunning gardens were alive with wildlife like red-eyed tree frogs and colorful birds, making breakfast a truly magical experience. The staff were so friendly, attending to our needs with a smile and making our time even more enjoyable.
Room was basic.

The bungalows offered plenty of space, and the hot showers delivered consistent, satisfying warmth after a day exposed to nature. An open-air dining area kept things relaxed, with wild birds regularly stopping by to entertain with their antics.
Room furnishings resembled a mismatched collection of yard sale finds, lacking the charm and quality expected at this price point. For two consecutive days, there was an electricity outage due to maintenance, which was inconvenient and not communicated prior to arrival. Also, the laundry service promised was nonexistent, which threw a wrench in mid-trip laundry plans.

Had a nice time soaking in the beautiful pools and enjoying the tasty pizza we ordered for dinner. The outdoor pool area was perfect for lounging after a day of hiking. Just a heads up, the WiFi was spotty, but it didn't take away from our overall fun! 🌴

The large hotel is beautifully immersed in nature, with plenty of walking trails to spot diverse wildlife, including remarkable birds during breakfast. The friendly staff were accommodating, assisting with local activities. However, the charm seems diminished after its expansion. the absence of bird feeders was disappointing. An early checkout was marred by an inadequate packed breakfast and confusion regarding the room key, which left a negative impression.

Ideal for adventure lovers
The wildlife is everywhere! I saw howler monkeys and green macaws. The trails were very nice, a gem for nature enthusiasts like me.
It wasn't exactly cheap but still acceptable.

The vibrant gardens were a highlight, filled with diverse wildlife, creating a stunning backdrop for breakfast. The pool area was inviting, although the limited shaded seating made lounging difficult at times. However, the room felt dated, with a musty smell upon arrival, and it lacked basic bath amenities like shampoo and bar soap, which detracted from the overall experience.
